Hello,
Thanks for tuning into Au Naturale again! This week's tip for beautiful skin is: use medicinal Aloe Vera juice as a toner for clear, even-toned skin. People around the world have used Aloe Vera for beautification purposes for centuries. For instance, Aloe Vera juice was said to be Cleopatra's secret for luminous hair and skin. In the present, many continue to use this plant for its medicinal properties. It can help dry up pimples, decrease hyperpigmentation, fade acne scars, and slow down the aging process. Here is how you can use it:
1) Buy an Aloe Vera plant from a gardening store. Aloe Vera juice fresh from the plant is the best for skin. While Aloe Vera juice is sold in stores, these forms of the juice lack the nutrients that the plant has.
2) Cut off a 1-inch piece of one of the Aloe Vera stems. Then slice this piece in half.
3) Once the piece is sliced, you will see a gel like substance inside. This is the Aloe Vera Juice.
4) Holding the Aloe Vera piece, rub the juice against your face. Focus on areas with blemishes, burns or discoloration.
5) For best results, let the Aloe Vera juice mask dry on your face overnight. When you wash your face in the morning, the mask will come off.
6) Within a week of applying Aloe Vera juice to your skin, you will notice a dramatic difference in the quality of your skin. To completely fade unwanted marks, pimples, etc use every night. In a month to 6 weeks, you will find that blotchiness/blemishes are 60-80% faded.
Remember:
*Use moisturizer after you wash off the Aloe Vera to prevent your skin from over-drying.
*Aloe Vera is also useful for fading burns on your body and can be used on arms, legs, etc as well
*Aloe Vera used in partnership with the turmeric and yogurt mask described last week can have wonderful results for your skin. If you use Aloe Vera juice on your face at night, wash it off in the morning, and then use the turmeric and yogurt mask during the day, your skin will benefit greatly.
*Feel free to comment if you have any questions!

Introduction
Hello,
Welcome to Au Naturale! Thank you for stopping by. In a nutshell, this blog provides weekly beauty tips from around the world. The beauty tips I share all involve only natural ingredients, particularly items that you may have in your kitchen, garden, or local grocery store. From Ayurvedic hair treatments to Mayan face masks, I love to try new things. Enjoy and feel free to comment if you have any questions or suggestions.
This week's tip: Use a turmeric and yogurt mask a couple of times a week for clear and glowing skin.
-Turmeric is a mustard-colored Indian spice that is used in everything from cooking to beautification. In India, brides are covered in turmeric before their weddings so they will have a nice glow on their special day. Also, when children are sick, parents often feed them turmeric and warm milk to ease sore throats, congestion, etc. You can find turmeric at any local Asian or Indian grocery store. Be sure to ask for kasturi turmeric. You can use this form of turmeric without having to worry about getting a yellow stain on your face. As far as the yogurt is concerned, the Bulgarian or Greek brands are both very effective and gentle on the skin. The mask is extremely helpful in addressing hyper pigmentation, acne, discoloration, scarring, large pores, etc.
What you need:
1) A bowl
2) A spoon
3) Kasturi turmeric
4) Yogurt
5) Honey or Lemon Juice (optional)
Directions:
1) Mix a spoon of kasturi turmeric with a spoon of either Bulgarian or Greek yogurt. Mix them together until they form a paste-like substance. If you want to tackle any hyper pigmentation or discoloration, add a bit of lemon juice or honey to the mix.
2) Cleanse your face and remove any make up you have on. Apply the paste liberally onto your skin and neck. Allow the paste to dry on your skin for an hour or so.
3) After an hour, use warm water to gently remove the mask from your face. After you remove the mask, be sure to use moisturizer to prevent your skin from drying out.
Remember:
1) While using this mask, make sure you wear an old t shirt or an outfit that you're ok with getting dirty.
2) Avoid leaving the mask on for longer than an hour if you have sensitive skin---it may dry it out to much.
3) Make sure you add enough yogurt to the mix if you are lighter skinned
